Our little peanut is two months old today! We can hardly believe that it has been two months since she entered our world! At the same time, it feels like she's been here and part of our little family forever! We are so blessed! We are still in awe of God's amazingness and the timing of everything that has transpired in the last few months for us. It is hard to believe that at the beginning of the year, we were attending training classes, pulling all kinds of information together for the agency, going through the homestudy experience and wondering how long we would have to wait. Now, 10 months later, here we are celebrating our two month mark with our precious daughter! God is so good! We were concerened with the issues that the agency was facing and didn't know if we should change agencies or not. We trusted in the Lord and waited on His timing. He totally knew what he was doing and has blessed us in unbelievable ways.

I talked with a friend this weekend who is going through the same agency under a different program than us, and she said that there aren't many birthmoms contacting the agency because the agency wasn't able to advertise while they were facing their issues. We are amazed, humbled, and thankful, and think that this is another way that God is showing us His mighty power and His awesome timing. We got Allie before the advertising issues affected the agency. All this to say that God is so good, and His timing is perfect. There were times when we wondered what He was doing and why He wasn't answering our prayers when we wanted them answered. If He would have answered them when WE wanted them, we wouldn't be experiencing this miracle, and we wouldn't have Allie. Life without Allie would seem incomplete. We are so thankful and are choosing to continue to trust in the Lord. We want to encourage others to keep their eyes on the Lord and to wait and trust in His timing and His plans. He knows so much better than we do. While we don't always get it right, and doubt at times too (trust me, there were lots of times when we doubted during our five and a half year wait) you can always start again and ask Him to help you. Minute by minute He will give you the strength to wait and to grow- until His timing is perfect! :)

Allie's Two Month Mark Updates:

Allie has been smiling and cooing.

She has started rolling over from her front to her back.

She wants to sit up more.

She follows people and Gracie puppy around the room with her eyes.

She grabs and holds on to her blanket and our shirts.

She bats at her toys when she lays in her play gym.

She sleeps longer at night- between six and eight hours at a time. :)

She is using the next size nipples for her bottle.

She drinks between five and six ounces at each feeding. (She eats about every four hours)

She recogonizes mommy and daddy and smiles at us when she sees us after a while.

She is at the 11 pound mark for her weight.

She has been wearing size one diapers for a few weeks now. I think it was around week 5 that she switched. They fit pretty good- so we'll be in them a little while yet.

She is wearing 0-3 month clothes. Some of them are still big and baggy and too long, but the newborn cloths are starting to get too small.
