Summer Story Time at the Library!

I took Allie to the Summer Story time at the Library. Last time we went in the evening and daddy got to go too, but this time we went during the day. It was different than the spring one that we went to- only because there were lots more children! I was a little surprised at how many there were. The first week was a special week. They had the local dairy association there and the representative read books about cows and milk. They gave the kids a snack choice (not usual) of string cheese, to-go-yogart, chocolate milk and maybe one other dairy choice- I don't remember for sure. They also provided each child with a book- of their choice! To keep!!!  There were TONS of kids that day- and then the next week too- but then it kind of tapered off and there weren't' as many.  I noticed that Allie was able to sit and pay attention better this time- I think that she is more familiar with it and knows what to expect now. Plus, it might help she is almost three. :)

 More people. Usually the kids sit on the floor and the big people sit on the chairs or benches around the room.  Allie liked to sit next to me most of the time. :) Ok with me. :) She listens better that way. :)

  At the end, their closing was to sing "He's G0t the Wh0le W0rld"  song with the parachute. This was hands down her favorite part. She loved the whole thing, but she got so excited to do the parachute.  They did several verses and motions with the parachute. It was pretty neat.  Hopefully the video at the end of the post works... it was pretty fun.  Story time is over for the summer already! It seems to have flew by- we'll be ready for the fall one too. It is a great learning opportunity for her- and its free! :) She loves picking out books and a couple of movies each week.  This summer they had a fun reading challenge too. Every time you read an hour, and marked it on a paper, they gave you a ticket to win something fun.  You also got tickets for checking out books, and attending the story time. The tickets went into a bin where you could win fun prizes.  She got a book of her choice to keep at the very end for meeting her reading goal (mommy/daddy reading to her for 12 hours total over the summer).  :) She loves books and LOVES being read to!

There were TONS of kids- this was one of the first times we went. This was too many kids- in my opinion. It was much better after this time.  It seems a little crazy, but for the most part the kids were all doing what they were supposed to. Allie is in the video, it is hard to see her because there were so many people, but every once in a while you can get a glimpse of her. :) The later weeks she was able to have her own handle to hold on to, and it wasn't so crowded around. I didn't video any other times than this one. :)
