A Year Ago...

It is SO hard to believe that one year ago, we were just telling our families that we were officially going to adopt. We sent the initial application out on December 21st, and told our families the news at our Christmas get-togethers. We were nervous and very excited, and very unsure of what the whole process would be like. We DID know that this is where God wanted us and we were going to follow His lead. WOW! As we told our families, we were wishing that this time this year we would have a baby to share in the celebrating! Little did we know, that she'd be four months old already! The agency had told us that on average it took about 13 months for placements. We were trying not to get our hopes up but also pretty excited that things could happen much sooner! God is so amazing and has brought us so far! This year has been great! There were times when it was rough and when we were discouraged, but as Proverbs 3: 5-6 says, " Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowlege him, and he shall diret thy paths." We tried very hard to follow this and tried to remember that the Lord had amazing plans for us. What a surprise when we found out that we were going to be parents to an amazing little girl! I truly believe that God had and still has us right where HE wants us and that His plan is perfect! If things would have happened when WE wanted them to, we wouldn't have precious Allisynn. A perfect reminder to keep trusting and keep leaning on Him. It is all so perfect! Thank you Lord- again... for your amazing blessings in our lives!
