Allie did amazing in the pool on vacation, so we decided she was ready for swim lessons. It just so happens that Auntie D teaches them at the Y. :) Perfect! So we signed her up for a six week class. She LOVES it! She is such a fish. It is a parent/child class which means we get to participate with her. Auntie D is a great teacher and Allie is responding well to her instructions. The first night, they did a lot of introduction to the water and kicking and such. She also encouraged the kids to put their heads under. Allie tried and didn't seem to like it too well- but the second week she did it several times and didn't seem to be bothered by it. :) Yay!!!! :) She loves learning new things and is like a little sponge right now... :) This is the perfect age to do this! :) The pictures show how much fun she has been having. The first week, Daddy swam with her and then Mommy did the second week.
Her first teacher! :)
Ready for class to start.... :)
Showing Allie her name on the roster as she is checking out our information to make sure it is correct.... :)
Both week so far, there have only been three in the class. There were supposed to be six or seven. We are loving the small size! :)
Blowing bubbles! :)
Kick-kick-kick! :)
Choo-choo train around the edge.... by the second week- she wanted to be a big girl and not have me hold on to her- at all! When I tried- she would shake me away and say "No mommy- I can do it!".
Listening to instructions to as to what to do next....
Ring around the Rosie- (this is one of the times to go under-...we all fall down....)
Week two.... :)
Back float/kick
She does really well kicking.... it tires her out though and she has to be reminded that she is doing a great job and to keep going. :)
