It amazes me how this little girl has gone from such a dependent little girl to this big girl- right before our eyes! She is working on potty training...she's doing good with it! We think we've officially bought our last box of diapers and have switched to pull-ups! :) She tells us when she has to go, and gets the BIGGEST smile when she does go!
She's also been playing and pretending more and more. I love to listen to her as she plays. She pretends and talks to her toys. Today, she was asking M!nn!e and D@!sy and M!ckey if they wanted to watch C!nderell@. She asked each one. She laid them in her chair and told them to take their nappy. She came back to check on them and told them to close their eyes. :) It was pretty cute.
She has this thing right now where she just wants to wear her dress up skirts... no tops. We keep trying to keep her fully clothed, but it is only a phase. (I hope!) When she does wear clothes, usually she insists on wearing a dress of some sort. I have to sometimes insist back that she wear what I choose for her- because otherwise, we'd only wear a small portion of her wardrobe over and over. I try to give her a choice- either this or that... you pick one. That helps sometimes. Usually when we get her all dressed, she has to take her socks off at least once before we leave the house. She does not like socks!
We are also in the phase of chasing her inorder to get her coat (and or socks) on before we leave. She likes to go places, and knows when we are - but makes a game out of putting her coat and socks and shoes on. She will giggle and run all around and make us chase her... :) She giggles the whole time! :)
We think Nap time may be on its way out... sadly. It usually takes a good hour to two hours to get her to sleep at night- and since she has figured out the child proof door knob thingy's and has been scaling the gate for quite a while (we don't even use it anymore)...we've been sleeping in her bed with her until she falls asleep. Usually it is 9:30 or 10 (sometimes later) when she finally falls asleep... and she's up at 6 or 7. I'm not sure she can handle going with out a nap... we tried it one day and it went ok- until around 7ish. We're trying it today too. She was awake in the middle of the night for about two hours last night- and then fell back to sleep and slept till almost 9. I figured that getting up that late, and then taking a nap would be a recipe for disaster again tonight.... so we'll see how it goes. I am surprised that she is going without already! I'm 32 and still enjoy MY naps! :) Ha!
She has this thing right now where she is watching a show or playing and she'll say, "Mommy say it!" or "Daddy, say it!" Then we have to say what she wants us to.... :) It is pretty funny. She also will ask questions like we ask... "What color is this? Pink! Right!" She listens and knows what we ask and what we are trying to teach her. :) It amazes me because she is really putting her words together and her sentences are really almost just like they should be.
