"Daddy Run a Race!"

Daddy ran his first 5k this weekend!!! We are so proud of him! He did an amazing job! He has been running since June and decided to give this a try! He kept saying he hoped he would be done running the course by the time the parade started (which was many hours after the race)... ha! :) Silly daddy! You had a great finish time! :) We are so proud of you!!!

Daddy checking in at the registration table.

It was COLD! Only 50 degrees... we bundled up Miss Allie and she watched daddy run! :) She loved it! I think she was amazed by the whole thing... she just was watching everything! I kept telling her to watch for daddy. She'd say "Daddy running a race!"
Daddy wore this tag on his shoe so that his time could be recorded officially. It was pretty impressive!
We were amazed at how many people showed up to run in this race! They also had a mile health walk. There were people who really took this serious! They were actually jogging a lot before the race even began! Some people had these enormous wrist watches on to keep track of their stats for their running!
Because the race was held in town, the village police led the race, and the squad followed behind as a precaution. Daddy is in this picture... blue t-shirt with white long sleeve t-shirt.... can you spot him? :) Where's daddy?
First mile.... he makes it look so easy! :)

Coming down the hill toward the finish! Go daddy! You're doing great!!!!

Yay!!! 32.46 Great finish daddy!!!! :)

High fives!!! :) We're so proud of you daddy!!!!
Daddy recovered really quickly and didn't even act like he just ran a 5k!  He is one amazing guy!!!
We stuck around at the end, and he won the first door-prize they gave out! Pretty cool! A gift card! :) Yay!  Allie said something later in the day about daddy winning a door... ha! :) She's a riot sometimes! :)  We told her they were giving our prizes and she must have heard us talking about it being a door prize. Ha! :) So funny! :)
Checking out the final times and places!
Great job daddy!!!! We knew you could do it! :) We had a blast watching and cheering for you!!!!
