Are you waiting for something? A new job? A pay raise? A better house? Car? Kids to get bigger? School to start? Vacation? Health issues to get better? Something else??? Have you ever stopped to think that God might be using what you are waiting for to teach you something? Maybe even to teach others something?
I'm fairly certain God doesn't cause the things in our lives that "go wrong"- but I am also equally certain that He uses those circumstances to draw us closer to Him. To lead us to desire a closer relationship. To deepen our trust in who He says He is. To teach us exactly who WE are and what it is that we believe.
Waiting isn't easy. It is very human for us- especially in this day and age to have instant gratification. Craving ice cream? You can either go to your freezer- go to the store, or head to the local ice cream stand. If you have to have something, of material value at least, you can pretty much get it whenever you want- (even if there are consequences of debt that follow.) However, not all things are easily obtainable. (See list above). Some of them take time. Some of them cause us to pause and really evaluate why we want what it is we want. Some of them leave us aching for that thing we are waiting for. God promises to bring ALL things together for the good of those who trust Him. (Romans 8:28) However, we have to give Him whatever it is that we are struggling with- trusting Him completely that He can take care of it. That He will provide. That He is big enough to know what is best for us- and deliver in His time. And that His timing is BEST.
We are learning- as we wait for baby number 2 that God is always there. He knows the bigger picture- way better than we do. We can only see the teeny part of the big map that God has laid out for us. We have to trust that He knows best and that He will bring it all together for our good. That He loves us enough to take care of us and protect us and give us His best. Even though it certainly isn't always "easy", the best way to wait out the storms and trials and trying times is to fully trust that God is on our side and has the Master Plan. :) When you really stop and relish in that thought- it is very peaceful. He is fully capable of taking care of whatever it is you are waiting for if you trust Him. And the cool thing is that He usually has something FAR better for you than YOU could have ever dreamed of! And you will have peace that passes all understanding as you wait- if you are fully relying on Him. (It doesn't mean you won't still be disappointed from time to time, or maybe even question, but you also will find yourself going back to the truth- and resting in Him who created you- knowing that He is still in-control.)
So- what are you waiting for? Do you trust God enough to LET HIM have HIS way? Are you allowing Him to teach you as you wait? Are you open to Him using you- to reach others- and to inspire others to trust in the God that you serve? I challenge you to try. He is big enough and loves you enough... give Him a chance. Fully surrender (even if you have to keep surrendering...:)) and watch what He will do in your life! :) You will never be the same. Your faith will never be the same! :) Your story will be amazing.
