She's Growing Up!

Our little princess is six! It is hard to believe this is even possible- let alone truth... but it is!
She is getting bigger and more independent and it is happening so fast! She is a strong willed, spunky, creative, smart little girl.  She adores her brother and dressing up.  She loves music and has a beautiful singing voice.  She isn't a fan of sleep, and loves adventure and activity.  She always wants to know where we are going next or who is coming to visit, and doesn't seem to like the quiet, down days nearly as much as her momma and daddy do. :)

She loves milkshakes, fruit, salad, popsicles, waffles, spaghetti and meatballs, and chips and salsa.  She has a sweet tooth like her momma and loves to help make chocolate chip cookies for daddy. :)

She loves the movies The Pirate Fairy and Frozen. Her favorite shows are Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, Ella the Elephant, and The Magic School Bus.

She loves to ride her bike and jump in her trampoline.  She loves to draw and make cards and pictures for people.

She LOVES PICKING FLOWERS for momma- or just to play with.

She recently discovered the love for painting her own nails... this makes momma a bit nervous, but she is getting better at not getting it everywhere... :)

She loves to dress up and pick out her own clothes.

She loves to go places- especially where her cousins are.

She adores her grandparents and aunts and uncles.

She gets so excited to see her daddy walk through the door after work each day. She chases him around talking a mile a minute about her day and asking about his. :)

She loves to swing and play on her monkey bars.

She still has her imaginary friend Amber. Most of the others aren't around anymore.

She has started asking me to take her picture more, and "text it to so and so..." :)

She doesn't like to really settle down in bed until she knows that one or both of us are in our bed for the night too. She likes to have lots of lights on (the hall light, the bathroom light, her night light, her closet light... sigh) :)

She can tie her shoes and zip her own zippers.

She can take her own shower and doesn't really need help with anything in that way anymore. Her hair sometimes needs help (with the conditioner).

She recognizes and can read a lot of sight words.. and points them out in books. :)

She can easily count to 100 and can identify her numbers up to 20 for sure... some higher ones.

She can write all of her letters without help or a model.  She often is asking how to spell words and can usually hear a lot of the sounds in the words when we stretch them out. :)

She likes to pretend she can speak other languages... :)

She wishes she could have a kitten (allergies make this a no-go).

Her memory is amazing.  I am shocked at some of the things she remembers, and how quickly she learns new things. I hope this continues for her in her school years and beyond. :)

She wants a convertible car someday... lol ;)

She loves going to church and "big group".

She knows a lot of bible stories and has memorized a lot of bible verses.

She loves "Jesus songs" but her favorite songs right now are from the Frozen soundtrack. :)

She can swim the length of the pool without help- but likes to have the security of someone being right beside her as she does since it is still new. :)

She makes friends very easily.

She wants another baby in our house- and this time a sister. :) That one is entirely up to God. :)

She is learning how to ride her roller skates by herself and can also do her pogo stick with usually 4 jumps on her own.

She loves to run.  She wants to sign up for the Cheese Chase this year and thinks she can run the 5k like daddy. :) She has enough energy she just might be able to!

She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES books and looking at them and having them read to her. She says she has read every book in our house (being a teacher, we have a TON plus some!) and I believe her. :)

Her room is usually messy- and the mess is a mixture of dirty clothes, (even though the basket is right there... something we are working on) and dress up clothes (again something we are working on- because the container for them is in her closet) and books.  :)

She has a million and one stuffed animals and they are all in her bed. :)

She has a strong will and likes to push her limits... but know that when we say something, we won't change our minds.  She would love to say that SHE is incontrol and "incharge" around here, but knows that she really isn't.  This doesn't stop her from trying to put herself incharge every single day. :)  I pray this strong will is used in a mighty way for God someday! :)

She is a leader and loves to help others and show new things.  Again, I pray this is used for good and not a bossy way- especially as we start her school career. :)

She loves arts and crafts and glue and glitter. :)

She loves bracelets and necklaces and hair bands.

She would love to get her ears pierced but is still a bit scared.

She loves to be outside playing and working along daddy.

She is an amazing, sweet, love! And we are so thankful for her and the gift that she is to our family! God gives great gifts and we are blessed beyond measure to have this little princess as
our daughter! :)

We love you Allie Marie! :)
