An Early Christmas Gift...

We decided to get a little nativity set to help Allisynn learn the true meaning of Christmas. Nana and Papa helped get the pieces for her.  This set is absolutely perfect! It allows her to play and pretend and learn- and we don't have to worry about anything getting broken or ruined... it is meant to be played with. : ) She is learning so much. She knows about Baby Jesus- we talk a lot about how His  birthday is coming up.  (She wants to make cupcakes since she had cupcakes for her birthday... it was her idea! :) You bettcha we'll be making cupcakes soon! :))  She also knows that Mary is Jesus' mommy.  We're working on Joseph.  She knows about the angels and we're working on the three wise men.  This set is neat because it has all of the pieces- the wise men, the inn and animals, and the nativity.
She loves to play with the pieces and is really learning! :)

She likes to put different pieces on top of the nativity. The angel makes pretty music when you put her on top.  I think she has a shepherd on top below. :) Maybe it's Joseph. :)

We also got an Advent Calendar.  We take a piece of the nativity out of a pocket each day.  We talk about the animal or person that is taken out each day and she puts it on the velcro spots on the nativity.  :) It is another neat way to help her understand all about Jesus' birthday!!! :)

Thanks Nana and Papa for helping us to give this gift to her! :)
