"Look at Me!"

Allie girl turned two last week. I wanted to write down a few of her things she is doing right now, so that we don't forget.  She has been stringing words together and talking up a storm. It is amazing how this skill just develops stronger each day. There is no possible way to count the words she knows... it is high though! She knows all of her colors- by pointing them out and saying their names. She gets them all right... brown and black are still a bit tricky. Blue, orange, pink, yellow, green, red, purple and white are all very strong and automatic.  She loves to color and seems to prefer her left hand, although will often use her right as well.  I asked the pediatrician and she said that children don't usually choose a hand until they are three or older... some not until kindergarten.  We thought that was interesting... and wonder which she will choose! :)

She LOVES Strawberry Shortcake.  She sometimes calls her berry cake.

She says some pretty cute things... lets see if I can remember a few...
Thank you very much! (Sounds like M!chelle T@nner from Full H0use- so adorable! She puts some inflection with it and it is just heart melting!)
Pelp! (means help!)
Umple (uncle)
Nighty Tight (when it's bed time) (she shortened the traditional saying of  Night Night, Sleep tight)
Thank you- (kind of sounds like cocoa)
Look at me!- (if she is doing something she is really proud of herself for doing!) (or if she is doing something she shouldn't be! :) )
Good Bob!- (good job!) Sometimes it is Good Bob mommy! or Good bob daddy or Good bob Allie!
Ur Right! (You're right! Again, sometimes it is You're right Mommy or You're right Daddy or You're right Allie!)

She loves music!

If you ask her to do something, more often than not, her immediate response is "Of course!" Can you throw this away for mommy? "Of course!"  Can you give this treat to Gracie? "Of course!"  :) I'm enjoying this now, cause who knows how long that will last! It is so precious! :)

She will say "One Show" when she wants to watch tv.  Or sometimes she'll say "one book" or "one pool". :)

She weighs 29.5 pounds and is 34 inches tall.

She knows how old she is and will answer if you ask her. Also knows her full name and will answer when you ask.  It is pretty adorable to hear! :) "Allisee Muree Hur-fuhr!" :) (we need to work on the last part! :))

She loves baths and brushing her teeth.  She loves having her toes painted like mommy. She also loves necklaces and bracelets and watches. :)

She has shown interest in potty training. She has used it and told us she needed to! Sometimes she goes and sometimes she doesn't.  Steps in the right direction though!

She loves to play outside... she loves her sand box, her swing, and her trike and "noisy bike" (as she calls her four wheeler).

She loves to be read books.  She also has been doing a great job at finishing the las word when I stop at the end of the sentence... (She knows the books so well, she has them memorized!) :)   She gets all proud of herself when she gets the word and finishes the sentence... :) It is pretty amazing sometimes! And of course adorable! :)

She loves to blow raspberries on mommy and daddy. :)

She loves to tease Gracie with a treat- getting her to chase her all over the house inorder to get the treat. :) Allie will say "Tease Gracie!" :)

She knows the landmarks when we are close to Nana/Papa's and Grammie/"Bops" (Gramps)... and says their names along the way.

She loves the songs "On top of Spaghetti"  "He's got the Whole World in his Hands" "Jesus Loves Me"  "Jesus Loves the Little Children" "The B-I-B-L-E" "The Wheels on the Bus (we add different verses)" and "Elmo's song".  We sing most all of these before bed- along with reading a Clifford story, a Curious George Story and a Bible story.  :) (our routine!)  :)

She had the flu mist vaccine (only vaccine) at her two year check up- and had a reaction to it... we came home and she got really sick and had to go back to the dr's office quickly.  They monitored her and gave her medicine and she's pulling out of it... she just has normal flu symptoms now, the worst is over... it was scary for a while that afternoon.  They kept her at the office for a few hours to watch her and make sure she was ok. They gave her a shot of benadryl and kept checking on her. Her fever was really high and she just wanted to sleep.

She loves going to the park. She especially loves riding the train. She also loves playing on all the playgrounds. She does really good going up the steps and down the slides. Usually with mommy or daddy, but sometimes on her own.

We are constantly amazed at this little girl. We are so blessed!!! God is so amazing- and we are loving this role of mommy and daddy even more every day. She is such a blessing to us and we are so thankful! She seems to be growing up so fast... we are trying to savor every second!!! :)

I read through this and remembered your baby shower at new grounds when ava was still in my very big belly and allie was just a teeny tiny lil thing...and literally it feels like it was hardly a year ago! I will admit, we are coming up on a very awesome period of time to be mommies... I love this stage! Miss you guys... can't wait for Thanksgiving or something to get here! Ha!
